HTC EVO 4G: Android 2.2 Froyo Update – Download Guide

Following on from our earlier post, which informed you about the HTC EVO 4G root tutorial guide, we have yet more great news for you, as we now have a guide for installing a preliminary build of Android 2.2 Froyo on your rooted HTC EVO handset.
As reported from Phandroid, the Froyo build has once again come thanks to the guys over at xda-developer forums, and the full download guide can be viewed here over at AndroidForums.
As we mentioned above, this is only a preliminary build, which means that some of the EVO’s features are not working yet. These include the camera, MMS, tethering and 4G data features. While you could argue that these are the core features of the EVO, we’re glad to report that all other features work fine and the completed installation of the build will result in a mega speed boost.
The further good news is that more Froyo builds are on the way according to the XDA guys, meaning that those features that don’t work now, will be included in future builds. So there is nothing to worry about.
As usual, you should only perform the update if you know what you are doing. More details through the link. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
