5 million download Skype 3G app

Skype has said that nearly five million iPhone users have already downloaded the latest version of its new iPhone app that launched last Sunday.

Skype 2.0 introduced the ability to make Skype-to-Skype calls on the 3G network, rather than having to rely on an internet connection. It’s been a much-requested feature but the company also said it would charge for the feature at the end of 2010.

Speaking to Reuters, Russ Shaw, Skype General Manager for Mobile, said that the firm needs to start charging for the service so that it can ensure that the quality of 3G calls remains high.

Shaw wouldn’t give pricing details but said the service would still be competitive with rival services.

“We're not going to want to price ourselves out of the market," he said. "I can't ignore the fact that consumers (currently) use us for free."

Drake "Thank Me Later" Leak - Download the Album

Hip-hop star Drake's Thank Me Later doesn't officially hit stores until June 15th, but already his new album has leaked. Final versions from tracks off the album can now be found online. Is Drake upset about Thank Me Later leaking early? No way. On his Twitter page he says, "I gave away free music for years so we're good over here...just allow it to be the soundtrack to your summer and ENJOY! JUNE 15th!"
I agree with Drake -- it's all good. People are still going to buy the album. In my opinion, his own people are likely behind it. This leak gets people talking early about the new album. It's free publicity!
I found a blog that offers downloads of tracks off the album. Check it out for a sneak preview at your own risk but be sure to buy Thank Me Later on iTunes or from your local record store. Support artists who work hard making their music! Besides, your computer could get a nasty virus if you download his album from a random internet site.

HTC EVO 4G: Android 2.2 Froyo Update – Download Guide

HTC EVO 4G: Android 2.2 Froyo Update – Download Guide

Following on from our earlier post, which informed you about the HTC EVO 4G root tutorial guide, we have yet more great news for you, as we now have a guide for installing a preliminary build of Android 2.2 Froyo on your rooted HTC EVO handset.
As reported from Phandroid, the Froyo build has once again come thanks to the guys over at xda-developer forums, and the full download guide can be viewed here over at AndroidForums.
As we mentioned above, this is only a preliminary build, which means that some of the EVO’s features are not working yet. These include the camera, MMS, tethering and 4G data features. While you could argue that these are the core features of the EVO, we’re glad to report that all other features work fine and the completed installation of the build will result in a mega speed boost.
The further good news is that more Froyo builds are on the way according to the XDA guys, meaning that those features that don’t work now, will be included in future builds. So there is nothing to worry about.
As usual, you should only perform the update if you know what you are doing. More details through the link. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
