WWE News: Preview for tonight's NXT - another elimination, Announcer vs. Rookie feud to continue

Tonight's episode of WWE NXT will feature another elimination and the continuation of the Daniel Bryan and Michael Cole feud.

NXT is down to the Final Four of #1 Wade Barrett, #2 David Otunga, #3 Heath Slater, and #4 Justin Gabriel. One more Rookie will be eliminated on tonight's show.

On Monday night's episode of WWE Raw, announcer Michael Cole advanced his storyline feud with eliminated Rookie Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson).

Cole advertised that he will demand a public apology from Bryan on tonight's NXT based on Bryan's scripted attack on him last week or he will "sue Bryan for all he's worth."

RAW RESULTS (BRET HART NEW GM, FATAL FOUR WAY MAIN EVENT DECIDED, AND BATISTA QUITS AGAIN, THIS TIME, FOR GOOD):


The show started with Batista talking about why he quit during the WWE Title Match at Over The Limit, saying that he life was in danger. At that point, Bret Hart was introduced as the new RAW General Manager. He came out announced that 3 qualifying matches will take place, with the winners meeting John Cena for the WWE Title at the WWE Fatal Four Way PPV on June 20th. Hart ordered Batista to face Randy Orton. When Batista refused, Orton was awarded the match via forfeit. Enraged, Batista said "I Quit" once again, only this time, he was leaving the company. The backstory to this is that Batista's contract has ended, and he has refused to sign an extension. Great mic work from Batista, as this character has fit him like a glove. It's a shame that his best character comes at the end of his run in the WWE. No word of what Batista will do in his post-WWE career.


The first "official" match was another Fatal-Four-Way Qualifying match between Mark Henry and Sheamus. Decent big man vs. big man match with Sheamus going over, kicking Henry in the head and pinning him. 


Bret Hart would vacate the United States Championship that he won last week, and announced R-Truth vs. The Miz for the vacant title. He would also announce John Cena vs. Edge vs. Chris Jericho, where if Edge or Jericho won, then they would be in the Fatal Four Way title match. If they lost, neither would get in.


The ladies were up next. Decent and quick match as Alicia Fox & Maryse defeated WWE Divas Champion Eve Torres & Gail Kim, when Maryse pinned Eve. One has to wonder would the ladies fare better if the two women's brands were merged, allowing all of the women to compete against each other. Maybe have just the Women's title and bring back the Women's Tag Team Title. WWE actually had great Women's Tag Title matches back in 1988.


Miz vs. Truth for the US Strap was next. Great match between these two, as Truth seemed to work better with Miz than he did with DiBiase the night before. R-Truth has worked hard to get that character over with the WWE Universe. And he has been rewarded with the United States Championship, his first major WWE singles title (he's a former 2-time Hardcore Champ). The most improved wrestler of the year would have to be The Miz. 


The Jon Lovitz segment was, well, not needed. Jon Lovitz had someone pull his "eyeball" out as "talent". Ted DiBiase came down to buy it, but Santino interrupted the transaction. Of course, this led to Santino getting beat down by DiBiase.


Unified WWE Tag Team Champions defeated William Regal & Vladimir Kozlov in a relatively quick match. Possibly shorten because of the long "entertainment" segment right before it. After the match, the champions were attacked by three newcomers to the federation. While their identities were not acknowledged, they are the FCW Tag Team Champions Jimmy and Jules Uso (sons of former WWE star Rikishi). The woman that debuted with them is Sarona Snuka (Tamina in FCW), the daughter of Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka. They were most likely brought up to take the spot left empty by The Colons (as Carlito was fired last week).


Good main event triple threat match between John Cena, Edge, and Chris Jericho. Jericho appeared to have tweaked his ankle or knee, as he landed awkwardly midway through the match. The match saw many near falls and near submissions. The finish saw Jericho hit the Codebreaker on Cena. But before he could make the cover, Edge speared Jericho and pinned him to enter the Fatal Four Way. The show ended with Cena, Edge, Sheamus, and Orton looking at each other as they are the RAW main event for the PPV.


Overall, a decent episode of WWE RAW

[Update: Firefox, Too] Download Chrome To Phone For Android 2.2 and Google Chrome

Update]: Someone’s made a Firefox version of the plugin you’ll need on the browser side of things. You’ll need to grab that from here. You’ll use the same APK as before, though.

This pair of plugins (one is for the Google Chrome browser, and the other is an app for Android) enables you to do what Google demonstrated during last week’s Froyo keynote: pushing web pages directly from your browser to your Android phone instantly. As their Google Code project describes (and as it was described at Google I/O), it uses the newest AppEngine server along with Android 2.2’s new Cloud to Device Messaging service to make this possible.

1. http://code.google.com/p/chrometophone/downloads (make sure Settings->Applications->Unknown Sources is checked). Note that this application requires Android 2.2 (”Froyo”) or later.
2. Start the Google Chrome to Phone Extension application on the phone.
3. Choose the account to register with (this must match the account you sign in to with Google Chrome to Phone Extension on the desktop).
4. Click on “Register Device” to register your phone with the Google Chrome to Phone Extension service.
